Cinco de Mayo inspired fiesta flowers

These festive fiesta flowers are a simple way to add a pop of color to any fiesta! I am happy to report that the cost of this project was only $3! I was able to purchased a ton of tissue paper from the dollar store! Oh happy day!  After much ripped up paper and ugly looking flowers, I came up with these two ideas! First, a multicolored bouquet, and second, a huge flower that lays flat and is suitable for a centerpiece or wall hanging.

Supplies: Multicolored tissue paper, scissors, clear tape or thin rope, and floss if you are planning to hang your flowers from the ceiling.

A Multicolored Bouquet

Step 1: Select a color, and stack 6 sheets of paper together. Begin folding like you would fold a fan. Make one fold then turn the paper over, make a fold, then turn the paper over etc. The tighter and smaller you make the folds the better.

Step 2: I made used several different sizes, but I think I prefer using the full size the best.

Step 3: Tie each center with rope, twine, or I found that clear tape works best

Step 4: Snip Snip! Snip the edges in pointy or round scalloped fashion

Step 5: This is the secret to making a bouquet. Stack the rolls then fold them all inwardly

Step 6: Gather them all up and tie or tape the bottom to secure the bouquet

Step 7: Carefully unfold each petal. The bouquet is now ready for a vase or to be hung up!

Tip: Instead of a bouquet, you can also just fold up one solid color, tie the center, fold in half, unfold, add a little string and hang from the ceiling.

One Big Poof Poof of a Flower

Step 1: Stack 6 sheets of each color you will use.

Step 2: Fold the sheets as you would a fan

Step 3: Snip the edges to a point

Step 4: Secure the center with rope or tape

Step 5: Unfold the petals by pulling them towards the center

This flower lays flat so it's suitable for a table centerpiece or a wall piece!
