Nub and Pi-Stach-io - The makeover edition

Succulent makeover time! One of our succulents was completely destroyed by his fellow neighboring cactus. I think the big one - we like to call him 'Nub' because he was just a little round nub when we got him - dried out the little one. Nub is so smug sometimes.....

This is the second succulent we pair with Nub so I figure it's time for a fresh start! First, Nub needed a friend that wouldn't die on us.  I found this Wormie 'the water sensor' at the garden store, and he's perfect because he's made of a type of clay that changes color when the soil gets too dry. I gave Wormie a mustache and renamed him Pistachio!!!

I really love mid-century modern; especially retro futuristic looking designs. So I thought it would be fun to brighten up Nub's new bachelor pad by hot gluing some retro looking stones to his home.

I couldn't just stop at one, so I also hot glued stones to my votive candle holder and transformed it into a new home for Mr. Prickly Perkins! This project was fun and easy. The light catches the stones, so this really brightened up our living room!
