DIY Halloween Project - Spider Candles
Aren't you just fascinated by the transformational power of spray paint?! You can spray paint pretty much anything old and boring, and just ten minutes later, you have something new and exciting you want to show off to all your friends! That's how it was for these lackluster, glass candle jars I purchased for only a dollar. They sat unused, just waiting for the right project to come along....Then last week I was perusing my local Halloween store when I locked eyes with a cluster of creepy crawlers and thought to myself...if only black widows were neon pink they wouldn't be so scary - Eureka! An idea was born.
okay okay, they're still kinda scary but isn't the gold snake kinda glamorous?
If you need last minute decor, this is an easy and colorful way to decorate your desk, coffee table, or entry way for Halloween!
Project Time: 30 Minutes
You will need the following:
Step 1. Spray paint plastic spiders with pink spray paint. Let dry for 10 minutes.
Step 2. Turn your glass candle upside down (so the wick doesn't get any paint) and spray paint black. Let dry for 10 minutes.
Step 3. Hot glue spiders to candles.
As an additional option, you can spray paint a gold snake and wrap it around the base of the candle (it kinda look like the snake is going after the spiders).
I like a slightly cleaner look, but you can use the hot glue whispy strands as spider webbing and wrap all around the candle. I used a little on a few of the spider legs so you get the idea...
Happy Halloween decorating....and candy eating!
